Thief River Falls Skating Club

advanced TESTING

A figure skater’s progress is measured by a series of tests which are governed by two skating organizations; United States Figure Skating  (USFS) and Ice Skating Institute (ISI)  TRFSC conducts a test session each year offering Moves in the Field, Freestyle, and Ice Dance.

The tests establish levels of skating in each discipline for competitive purposes. All sanctioned competitions group skaters according to their passed test level. This allows skaters of similar abilities to compete against each other. These abilities are proven by passing the official USFS or ISI tests, taken in front of judges at designated test sessions.

Many skaters participate in testing and competitive skating; both are enjoyable and challenging aspects of the sport.

The test sessions hosted by TRFSC allow a skater to test their skating achievements in a positive and friendly atmosphere.

The test registration must be completed by the posted due date or a late fee of $30.00 will be added to your registration. There will also be a $20 processing fee for any refunds.

Any skater who withdraws from the test session on or after (TBD), the test fee will not be returned.
