SKATING ESSENTIALS

The sport of ice skating can be enjoyed in many ways. Regardless of how you decide to enjoy ice skating, always show courtesy toward others. Skating is best enjoyed when it is done safely. Below are tips and simple rules that will allow your skater to have the best possible experience on ice!

TRFSC LTS DRESS CODE 

• REQUIRED
  • Skates (figure or hockey skates) Legends Sporting Goods in TRF has new and rental skates.
  • Skate guards required for all skaters.
  • Safety helmets are required for ALL Snowplow Sam skaters. 
  • Hair must be pulled back and out of the skater's face. 
  • Gloves must be worn at all times. 

• RECOMMENDED
  • Safety helmets for beginner skaters in Basic 1.
  • Layered Clothing
  • Sweatpants/Leggings (no longer than ankle) or Dresses (above the knee)
  • Sweaters/Fleece Jackets 
  • Winter Hats
  • Thin Socks

• NOT ALLOWED The below items restrict your skaters movements and makes it difficult for our coaches to evaluate and critique skills. 
  • Snowpants
  • Winter (puffy) Coats
  • Jeans
  • Long dresses (maxi dresses)
